Jewellery Care
Jewellery Care
For your Faux Frenchie treasures, crafted to be loved for years to come.
Caring for 925 Sterling Silver
Our 925 sterling silver pieces are designed to shine but like all precious metals, they deserve a little amour and attention.
- Avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions, and cleaning agents, as these can cause tarnishing.
- Polish gently using a soft, lint-free polishing cloth to restore their brilliance. Avoid harsh chemicals, chlorine, bleach, and harsh detergents, which can dull its shine over time.
- For stubborn tarnish, use a specialised silver cleaning cloth, a small amount of unscented soap in lukewarm water or mild silver cleaner. Ensure to rinse.
- Ensure jewellery is thoroughly dried.
Tip: Wearing your silver often actually helps slow tarnishing, a lovely excuse to keep your favourites close.
Caring for 9K Yellow Gold
Our 9K yellow gold jewellery is timeless and durable, yet still benefits from delicate care.
- Wipe softly with a jewellery cloth after wearing to remove oils and residue.
- For stubborn tarnish, use a specialised silver cleaning cloth, a small amount of unscented soap in lukewarm water or mild silver cleaner. Ensure to rinse.
- Ensure jewellery is thoroughly dried.
- Keep gold away from chlorine, bleach, and harsh detergents, which can dull its shine over time.
When Not to Wear Your Jewellery
Even the most elegant pieces appreciate a little rest. Remove your jewellery before:
- Exercising or swimming: sweat, salt, and chlorine can cause damage.
- Showering or washing hands: soap and moisture may leave residue or dullness.
- Sleeping: this prevents tangling, pressure, and accidental bending of delicate designs.
- Applying perfume or lotions: wait until they’ve fully absorbed before adorning yourself.
Think of it as giving your jewels their beauty sleep.
How to Store Your Jewellery
Proper storage keeps your pieces as radiant as the day you met them.
- Store in a dry, cool place, ideally in a soft pouch with limited exposure to air.
Note: FF pieces are delivered in a gift box which is for display/delivery only, do not store for extended periods of time.
- Keep pieces separate to prevent scratching.
When travelling, tuck each piece into its own pouch, chic et pratique.
Caring for Earrings
A little extra care keeps your earrings comfortable and hygienic.
- Always clean earring posts and backs before use and regularly with a soft cloth or mild antiseptic solution.
- Avoid wearing earrings in water or during sleep to maintain shine and shape.
Remember: earrings are delicate by design, treat them as the finishing touch, not the first step in your beauty routine.
A Final Note
Each Faux Frenchie piece is made to be worn, adored, and admired but like all fine things, it thrives with gentle care. With a little attention, your jewellery will remain as timeless as une belle histoire d’amour.
